The short version

Lume Radio has no accounts and no server of its own. Your favourites, your play history and the station catalog are stored on your device and never leave it. We collect anonymous usage and performance data to understand which parts of the app work, and nothing that identifies you.

What stays on your device

Favourites, recently played stations, your theme choice and the cached station catalog are held in local storage on your phone. They are not uploaded, backed up to us, or synced between devices. Deleting the app deletes them.

What we collect

The app sends anonymous product-usage and performance events to Mixpanel — which screens are opened, whether a stream started or failed, and how long it took. This is how we find out that a feature is broken.

These events are:

  • Not linked to you. The identifier is a random ID generated on your device. It is not your advertising ID and is not derived from any device identifier.
  • Not used for tracking. Nothing is shared with data brokers or joined to data from other companies. The app shows no ads.
  • Never your search text. When you search, we record how many characters you typed — never what you typed.

Location

Lume Radio never asks for location access and does not collect your location. To show stations from your country, it reads the country setting from your device’s language preferences.

This website

This site records anonymous page views and clicks on the app-store links, using the same Mixpanel setup, and only after you accept. It sets no advertising cookies. Declining leaves the site fully usable.

Station data

Station information comes from the radio-browser.info community database. When you start a station, the app tells radio-browser that the station was played, which keeps their public popularity data accurate. That request contains the station, not you.

Audio is streamed directly from each broadcaster. Lume Radio does not host, record, or store any audio, and your listening is subject to each broadcaster’s own privacy practices.

Children

Lume Radio is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Your rights

Because we hold no account and no identifier that maps to you, we cannot look up or delete data by person. To remove everything the app holds about your use, uninstall the app. For questions, email lumeradio.support@gmail.com.
